BRIEF HISTORY:
Horticulture Polytechnic College, Centenary Colony, Ramagiri (M) was established on 24th October, 2008 in an extent of Ac 10.19 guntas in survey No. 21 at Pannur Revenue village obtained from Singareni Collieries Company Limited. The college has an extent of Ac. 83.09 guntas at Ratnapur village for development of Instructional Farm and for research.
The college building along with boys & girls hostels were constructed at Pannur village with the funds from NABARD under RIDF XVI during the year 2010.
Estimates for the existing buildings:
College building with an area of 868.58 sq. mt: Rs. 80.00 lakhs.
Boys Hostel with an area of 409.56 sq. mt. : Rs. 64.00 lakhs
Girls Hostel with an area of 409.56 sq.mt : Rs. 64.00 lakhs
STUDENTS DETAILS:
The student intake per year is 40 No. Until now 326 students were admitted and have obtained Diploma in Horticulture. Out of them 163 students were selected for B.Sc. (Horticulture) through HORTICET and for further higher studies. Some of the students have been employed in public (2) and private sectors (136).
EXISTING FACILITIES:
The college has proper infrastructure for classes, laboratories and hostels sufficient for 80 students of both the years. There is a small play ground for recreation. Facilities at JNTU and at Singareni campus are being utilized for enhancement of student learning.








Mandate:
1. To impart quality education in horticulture to the students to develop skilled professionals to support and enhance the horticulture sector.
2. To bridge the gap between research and field application by creating a technically trained workforce.
3. Promote eco-friendly and sustainable horticultural practices that support rural livelihoods.
4. Enable students to pursue higher education in horticulture or related disciplines.
Salient Achievements:
1. Until now 326 students were admitted and have obtained Diploma in Horticulture.
2. 163 students were selected for B.Sc. (Horticulture) through HORTICET and for further higher studies
3. Some of the students have been employed at private sectors viz., teaching for Polytechnics, landscape architecture at resorts and GHMC, maintenance of farms, field officers for Oil palm (136).
4. Since the establishment of the college, most of the times achieved the highest OGPA of above 9.0.
